As far as the road takes us

Our planned route takes us out into the world—once around the globe. From Europe, we are drawn eastward, through Asia, across oceans, to South America and Africa. It is a dream that is as grand as it is fragile. Because I know that this world is not only beautiful, it is also vulnerable. Political and humanitarian crises in countries such as Israel, Iran, India, and Pakistan currently make safe land routes impossible.

And yet: we are going with open eyes – and open hearts. Our path will change; it will adapt to what is possible. We will learn to adapt: to borders, to circumstances, to crises, and to the little miracles that await us along the way. Our route is not fixed. The only thing that is certain is our attitude: to travel mindfully, flexibly, and peacefully – as far as the world will take us.

Perhaps at some point a cargo ship will take us across the ocean, from Asia to South America or in a completely different direction. Time will tell which stages will open up and which will remain closed.

Preparations are already underway, and next summer will be the beginning. Then our journey will commence – out into a world that entices, challenges, and carries us.
